Summer Internship @ Indusgeeks

Have u ever chilled out during your Internships? I did – here’s my Experience of being First ever Intern in Indusgeeks..

I would like to share what our company (Indusgeeks Solutions) does, and what Second Life is. Second Life is in its nascent phases but growing and under a lot of media attention. As you might know, this a completely different 3-d platform on which you can create, connect – reach out to people, conduct events, create your avatar any way you wish, fly and even dance, see beautiful destinations and cross unexplored boundaries. You can buy land, cars, apparel, skins, just about anything you wish.

“What’s happening with Second Life right now is exactly what happened with the web in the early days the belief was ‘the internet is a horrible place for brands, there’s all this stealing of property, and pornography’, and now what you find is that the web is used relentlessly for information-sharing purposes and now it’s exactly the same thing in Second Life.”Mr Rosedale said at an event in London.

Some of the world’s best-known brands including IBM, Mercedes, Adidas, McDonald’s Coca-Cola etc., have a stupendous presence in Second Life. Companies largely conduct virtual meetings, training sessions for their employees or just use it to meet up. The platform is also being used by big marketing agencies/advertisers for brand building and business development.

The world, which was set up in 2003, currently has over 13 million residents and around 30,000 Indian residents. The currency inside Second Life is the Linden Dollar: $1US equivalent to 267 Linden $ as of the day of writing. It keeps changing with fluctuations as in real life currencies.

Indusgeeks is a forward-looking company that believes innovation is key to being distinctly ahead. Their strength is a very creative team. The thing that is really different at Indusgeeks is that it gives you an opportunity to be a creator every day. This makes you kind of like what you do. Being a diverse team with varied skill sets you become a good multi-tasker, learning from everybody. I feel one should break all barriers if he/she feels they have guts to prove a point to this world by spreading their work. Indusgeeks is a source of inspiration for such people.

The work culture is really cool – we work in tight and small team with a blend of fun and seriousness. This is an amazing platform to start with and I can just say – life is on a learning curve!
